Founded as an obi-weaving business in Kiryu city, Gunma Prefecture, Kasamori Corporation has now transitioned into the embroidery industry. They exploit their longstanding experience, incorporating the latest machine weaving technologies and devotedly working on the development of new techniques and products.
The company's representative technique is 'Kasamori Lace', and the range of embroidered accessories using this, their private brand, is known as '000 (Triple Ou)'.
When we hear 'embroidery', we generally imagine designs fully decorated on Sukajan jackets, or more minimalistic items with detailing on shirts or bags. It may seem obvious, but these designs are embroidered onto fabric. The accessories being introduced today, however, are completely innovative, entirely away from the concept of fabric.
The company's Public Relations Officer Ayako Nomura tells us about the driving force behind their challenge into uncharted waters of product and technical innovation.
