Introducing 'e-lamp.', the Developer of 'e-lamp.ONE', an Earring-type Device that Makes it Possible to Visualize when our Heart Races
Recently, amidst various wearable devices being announced by different companies, e-lamp. started selling the earring type wearable device 'e-lamp.ONE' on April 2.
The unique feature of e-lamp.ONE is its ability to visualize a person's heartbeat as a 'pulse'. By attaching the sensor part to the earlobe, it detects the heartbeat. The earring flickers in sync with the heartbeat, and according to the blood volume from the heart, the LED color changes to blue, green, and red.
By expressing oneself with a pulse, or sharing heart rate information with others, it aims to create opportunities for new types of communication that will promote the sharing of emotions.
The developer of e-lamp.ONE is Ayumi Yamamoto, the representative of e-lamp. She is currently working on her business while conducting research as an active graduate student.
In this interview, I asked Yamamoto about the inspiration for starting her company, the development episodes of e-lamp.ONE, future developments, and the world she wants to realize.
