The "Boston" series by adidas, inspired by the winners of the Boston Marathon—the world's oldest citizen marathon—was first introduced in 1982 and has become one of the brand’s signature staples. Now, 42 years after the debut of the first model, the 13th generation, the Adizero Boston 13, has been released. This update, the first in roughly two years, features a 13.8% increase in the Lightstrike Pro midsole compared to the previous model, enhancing cushioning and responsiveness. In addition, the shoe is about 15g lighter (for 27 cm size) than its predecessor. So, how exactly has this latest model evolved?
The Goal: The Ultimate High-speed Training Shoe
"Adizero Boston 13 is a shoe developed with the goal of being the ultimate high-speed training shoe. While the Adizero Boston has long been loved by both elite athletes and recreational runners, feedback showed a growing demand for more comfort."The Adizero Boston was designed for tempo runs and intervals—training that requires speed and intensity. To support these high-intensity workouts with more comfort, we implemented upgrades," shared Masaya Kobayashi of
