How Wedding Gifts Led to the Birth of a Brand: The One-of-a-Kind Personalized Bags of Italy's 'Le Nom'
A unique bag just for you – that's how 'Le Nom', an Italian bag brand with a concept of personalization, captivates European women. The brand's story begins when its art director, Danielle Costa, created straw bags decorated with each guest's initials by hand for her best friend's wedding. This garnered unexpected attention on social media, and the brand officially launched as a business in the Fall/Winter season of 2019.
Costa took up the position of Art Director to focus on creation, and 24-year-old Filippo Folcioni, who joined the brand at its inception, now leads as the CEO. We asked him about the brand's growth during the pandemic, the switch to opening stores, and its anticipated expansion in Japan, looking at its journey over the past five years and future prospects.

A Brand Born from Wedding Gifts
Please tell us how you started the brand.
'Le Nom' was born from a wedding in St. Tropez in June 2019. Danielle Costa, a friend of the bride who is now the brand's art director, had a passion for making bags and clothes as a hobby. She happily agreed when asked to create a practical, personalized straw bag as a wedding favor for guests. This article is for members only.
