Change Your Day & Change Your Values with Socks – MADE IN JAPAN Sock Brand "NISHIGUCHI KUTSUSHITA"
With the concept "made for the wearer (はくひとおもい)," the sock brand NISHIGUCHI KUTSUSHITA manufactures in-house to offer high-quality materials, timeless designs, and affordable prices.
Loved both domestically and internationally, we spoke to Isato Nishiguchi from KNITWIN Co., Ltd. about the secret to their popularity and the deep allure of their socks.
An Original Brand from a Factory That's Been Running for Three Generations
"In 1950, my grandfather started a sock factory called 'Nishiguchi Socks.'"When the second generation and current president took over, the company name changed to KNITWIN Co., Ltd. in 1999. Later, when I founded our original brand, I wanted to use the name of our roots, Nishiguchi Socks, translating it to the Romanized 'NISHIGUCHI KUTSUSHITA.'
"At that time, we already had plans to expand overseas, so there was a disadvantage in that the name was difficult to pronounce for foreigners. Despite that, I insisted on using 'NISHIGUCHI KUTSUSHITA,' and thus, the brand was born."
