The Allure of 'Red Wing', a Boot Brand that Has Been Committed to Being Made in USA for over a Century, Featuring 'Irish Setter' & 'Postman'
Representing America as a heritage boot brand, 'Red Wing' captivates fans around the world with its craftsmanship and durability. Regardless of how times change, the appeal of its stubborn stance to continually protect made in USA remains.
Today, we had the opportunity to speak extensively with Seiya Abe, the Asia Marketing Manager for Red Wing Japan Inc., about the brand's history and the current state of Red Wing.
"Red Wing was born in a lush city called Red Wing City in Minnesota, USA in 1905 and has been headquartered there for over 110 years."

"The founder, Charles Beckman, immigrated from Germany at the age of 17, worked at a tannery (leather tanning factory) and a shoe store before establishing 'Red Wing Shoe Company' with 14 of his companions."

The roots of 'Brown Chief'
Looking back on the brand's history, there is an item that is believed to have led to the popularity of these boots, and hence, to today's Red Wing."It is a major premise that the base of Red Wing has been the category of work boots that have been around for over 100 years since the brand's foundation, but I think the agricultural model 'Brown Chief', which uses leather treated to resist fertilizers and water, was the first hit for Red Wing.
