Regional Culture Company 'Unagino Nedoko' Showcasing Unique Local Products

There are various craft products, such as woven textiles, pottery, bamboo work, etc., which have been cherished since ancient times throughout Japan. The creation of these crafts is often closely related to the unique environment and history of their respective regions.

Located in Yame city, Fukuoka prefecture, 'Unagino Nedoko' is a regional culture company that aims to share not only their products but also the background of these products. In their stores, they showcase a variety of crafts from all over Japan, illustrating the background and features of each product.

In this article, we conducted an interview with Shogo Haruguchi, Director and Buyer of the company, asking about the founding of the company, the charm of regional culture, their products, and more.

Delivering the Background of Product Creation

Could you tell us about the origin of your company?

Our company was established in 2012 by myself and Representative Director Shiromizu. We both had the same previous job and since 2009, we were involved in a Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare's employment creation project called 'Kyushu Chikugo Genki Project', which targeted the southern area of Fukuoka Prefecture.
