Hervé Chapelier grew up in Biarritz, France. While studying abroad in Los Angeles, he encountered colorful and practical bags. Drawing inspiration from that experience, he launched his own brand in 1976.“At the time, Chapelier was working as an English interpreter. It was through this job that he happened to discover a bag brand that fascinated him, so he started by importing and selling colorful duffel bags.”
