The Predecessor to 'ONE STAR'
'ONE STAR', with its prominent single star on the side, is one of CONVERSE's representative icons. This year marks the 50th anniversary of 'ONE STAR'. Fujiwara told us about the history of this model, which was originally launched as a basketball shoe."Before the birth of 'ONE STAR' in 1969, there was a predecessor model named 'Star & Bars'. While fabric shoes such as the 'All Star' were mainly made of canvas, the development of leather basketball shoes was undertaken in response to changes in times and durability. This led to the birth of the 'Star & Bars' model."
