That's when the "Pacific," crafted by the famed French leather shoe brand Paraboot, becomes the perfect choice. While they're Gurkha sandals, they incorporate materials and designs derived from dress shoes, offering a refined, dressy touch as well. When we asked Karasawa about Gurkha sandals, he explained:
"Gurkha sandals are said to have originated from the 'Gurkha soldiers,' a mercenary unit formed in Nepal by the British, who would wear them to traverse Nepal's rugged mountain paths. If the deck shoe staple 'Barth' is inspired by the navy, then 'Pacific' draws its roots from the army, which is a fascinating contrast.
