In the stillness of the pandemic, a young designer founded an accessory brand that fuses “quiet beauty” with practicality for everyday life.
“
Ponctuations” from Paris draws inspiration from the idea of “adding punctuation to your style,” offering objects that infuse sensitivity into daily life. We interviewed founder Mathieu Desmet to learn about the brand’s philosophy, his attention to craftsmanship, and his future vision.
The Silent Creativity Born from Lockdown
The brand began at the height of the COVID-19 lockdown. At a time when many people were overwhelmed by anxiety and uncertainty, founder and designer Mathieu Desmet spent time deeply reflecting, and says he became more determined to present something meaningful to the world."Being cut off from others actually felt strangely liberating. Instead of looking outward, it became a time to reconnect with my own roots."
Ponctuations’ products, created during these quiet moments, embody functionality, poetry, and Mathieu’s own sincere approach as a designer.
