The clear lenses of the sunglasses brand 'Dr.Ray', turn into sunglasses when exposed to ultraviolet light and change back into clear lenses when you go indoors.
We interviewed Shiro Mori, the representative of IEDGE (iedge.jp), which runs the brand. He shared with us about the inception of the brand and its offered products.
"Our company was founded about 14 years ago. We operate six brands that specialize in eyewear, one of which is Dr.Ray. Dr.Ray is a relatively new brand, with a history of about four years since its inception. One of the brand's features is that it offers photochromic lenses, which change color when exposed to ultraviolet light.
"Sunglasses are commonly used every day, by students and working professionals alike, in other countries. In Western countries, people often wear sunglasses due to lighter eye pigmentation making them more susceptible to brightness. Even children, who spend more time outdoors and are hence more exposed to UV rays, often start wearing sunglasses at an early age.
