Exceptional Cushioning Performance that Captivates Runners! The Technology Behind New Balance's "Fresh Foam" Series
The new model "Fresh Foam X More v4" adopts the thickest and softest midsole design in the series' history. The foam material, Fresh Foam X, known for its excellent cushioning and rebound properties, offers maximum cushioning to runners.
Additionally, the "Fresh Foam X 1080 v12" model is designed to provide a soft ride, supporting everything from fun runs to ultramarathons. The lineup also includes models like "Fresh Foam X 860 v13", which features a two-layer midsole for enhanced stability.
New Balance also offers the "FuelCell" series, supporting serious runners, but how does it differ from the "Fresh Foam" series? And what technologies are hidden in each model of the "Fresh Foam" series?
As previously covered by "Fashion Tech News," shoes from the "FuelCell" series, like the "FuelCell SuperComp TRAINER," use a midsole material called FuelCell known for its excellent rebound properties. These models support runners with a bouncing propulsion, mainly targeting those who aim to set records in races or are focusing on speed training.
On the other hand, the "Fresh Foam" series is characterized by its high cushioning properties.
"The Fresh Foam series is a collection that pursues cushioning like running on the beach and a fit that feels like a second skin. Although made of foam material, I consider Fresh Foam to be more of a platform rather than just foam. One notable feature is the concavo-convex structure, which varies by model. The hardness and combination of foam are also optimally selected for each model," says Aoi Mamiya, in charge of New Balance running footwear.
