A Special Exhibition on Fashion & Sports at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Anticipation of the Olympics this Summer
It has been decided that the French national team will wear official uniforms by Berluti for the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics, which will commence on July 26 this year. Berluti is a French luxury men's shoe brand founded in Paris in 1895 by Italian shoemaker Alessandro Berluti.
On this occasion, the opening ceremony will be held outside the stadium for the first time in history, as well as the boat parade on the Seine River which is expected to glamorously decorate the French delegation.
Fashion and sports are closely linked in the modern world, but when comparing the two, they seem to exist in different realms.
While one focuses on elegance, the other prioritizes performance. However, both have influenced each other over time.
'MODE ET SPORT, D'UN PODIUM À L'AUTRE', a special exhibition showcasing this evolution, is currently held at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs from September 20, 2023 to April 7, 2024 in anticipation of the Olympics this summer. The exhibition traces the history of how sportswear has come to occupy a "natural" place in our wardrobes, while featuring the representative sports that have shaped each era.
