"We've received feedback from many users that the unique, bouncy texture becomes 'addictive.'"

The sole incorporates two of Mizuno's proprietary technologies: "MIZUNO ENERZY CORE" and "MIZUNO ENERZY." Although it's in the lifestyle category, this shoe offers cushioning comparable to a high-performance running shoe.

"When we compare the material properties with our conventional materials, the 'MIZUNO ENERZY CORE' used inside the sole from the heel to the midfoot is approximately 293% softer and provides 56% more energy return.

"Additionally, the 'MIZUNO ENERZY' used as the main material for the midsole and outsole is also about 17% softer and offers 15% more energy return compared to our previous materials."

On top of the superior cushioning, the slip-on design, featuring a one-piece "Engineered Knit" material, significantly boosts the shoe's comfort.

"The development team for Mizuno's elite running shoes was in charge of this shoe's design, so it incorporates feedback from serious runners. We also varied the knitting pattern in different areas to allow the foot to slide in smoothly."

Indeed, a closer inspection reveals meticulous attention to detail. You can see it in the upper, where the knitting pattern is varied to provide specific properties like stretch or strength, and in the heel's three-dimensional design, complete with a pull loop.

But what's truly remarkable, as the name implies, is its "ultra-light" weight. Its incredible lightness is definitely something to talk about.

Made with a knit upper and a sole of "MIZUNO ENERZY CORE" and "MIZUNO ENERZY" materials, a single shoe (size 27 cm) weighs only about 180g.

"It's designed to be easily portable, as the upper can be folded to make it compact."

"At its core was the question of how to introduce our existing 'MIZUNO ENERZY[1]' technology to the general public. We developed this shoe with the goal of taking the softness and rebound of 'MIZUNO ENERZY[1],' adding an 'everyday wear' element, and creating a compact, easy-to-use shoe."

In fact, this model's completion involved a crowdfunding campaign. The fact that it sold out just 14 days after being announced on the site is likely a testament to the trust and anticipation people have for Mizuno.

Furthermore, in terms of the buzz it generated by spreading awareness far and wide, it's clear that reaching the general public, not just athletes, was a key priority.

"We're widely known as a sports brand that supports athletes, but our development process began by asking: how can we weave our advanced technology into everyday life so it can be enjoyed by a broader audience? That was our starting point."

The base for "THE MIZUNO ENERZY ULTRA LIGHT" was the "THE MIZUNO ENERZY" sneaker, which was born in 2020.

"Part of the development team from the original 'THE MIZUNO ENERZY' also headed up the 'THE MIZUNO ENERZY ULTRALIGHT' project, which took about two years to develop.

After doing our market research, we decided to go with a versatile design that pairs well with a variety of styles. We feel the result is a shoe that you can wear with just about any outfit."

The key commonality is the use of Mizuno's proprietary, patented materials, "MIZUNO ENERZY CORE" and "MIZUNO ENERZY," which we touched on earlier.

"This material is engineered to minimize energy loss and maximize return, but the exact formula is a company secret.

With this shoe, we made meticulous adjustments to ensure it delivers just the right amount of performance. We've crafted a sole with a balanced thickness that looks good and functions great. It's more understated than the base model, making it even easier to style."
