It fuses the brand's top-tier insulation with exceptional mobility and weather resistance, all wrapped up in a stylish design that looks right at home in the city. A New Model Carrying on the Legacy of the Mountain Peak Series

The roots of the Mountain Peak Down Jacket lie in the heavy outerwear NANGA has developed for high-altitude mountaineering.
"The name 'Mountain Peak' originally referred to a series of down suits and cold-weather gear created for NANGA's mountaineer ambassadors."
While the series boasts high-spec features capable of tackling 8,000-meter peaks, it was clearly overkill for the average user.
"That led to the concept of 'a single jacket usable for winter and snow mountaineering in Japan, and even in the city, without needing to reach the summit.' We then co-developed it with mountaineer Hirotaka Takeuchi. We designed it to be suitable for everyday use by adjusting its bulk while retaining all the essential specs required for winter mountains."
NANGA uses down from mature waterfowl. As it is washed and refined in Japan, the down's natural ability to regulate temperature and humidity is enhanced, and the typical odor associated with feathers is significantly reduced.

NANGA's Proprietary Insulation: High Warmth, Low Volume

Of course, to bear the "Mountain Peak" name, a high level of insulation is essential. The jacket uses NANGA's proprietary ULDX UDD down for its insulation. This high-performance down is made from Hungarian silver goose down treated with a super water-repellent finish to enhance its moisture resistance.
"Our 900-fill-power down has significantly more loft than what you'd find in a typical winter jacket. This means we can achieve incredible warmth with just 100g of fill, which also helps to keep the jacket lightweight. Additionally, the water-repellent treatment prevents the loft from collapsing due to moisture from condensation or sweat, ensuring consistent warmth even in the harshest winter mountain conditions."
The outer shell is made of a high-density nylon that offers an excellent balance of lightness, durability, and weather resistance.
The outer shell uses a 13-denier nylon. This high-density nylon, a material NANGA has long trusted for its winter mountain outerwear, is lightweight and flexible yet durable enough to withstand scrapes against rocks and branches.

The Secret to Its Street-Ready Style: A Balanced Silhouette

Down jackets for high-altitude mountaineering often sacrifice mobility. This model, however, masterfully overcomes that weakness through skillful pattern work.
"We have finely tuned the shoulder and sleeve patterns to ensure smooth, fundamental movements on winter mountains. While jackets with a high down volume can be restrictive, this model uses 3D tailoring to follow the body's natural movements."
Furthermore, by carefully adjusting the amount of down in different areas, the jacket achieves a sleek silhouette that avoids a bulky appearance.
The front features a double zipper for easy temperature regulation.
The design details also reflect a deep consideration for mobility on winter mountains.
"The front features a large zipper that's easy to handle even with gloves on, and the hood is three-dimensionally tailored to protect your head securely without obstructing your vision."
Furthermore, adjustable cuffs prevent cold drafts, and a drawcord at the hem enhances the fit, helping you retain body heat.
Long zipper pulls make the zippered pockets smooth and easy to operate.
"We've added large pockets on the chest and waist that are easy to access even with winter gloves on. We were also meticulous about their placement to maximize convenience on the move."
The padding on the back is strategically arranged to resist compression when wearing a backpack, and vents at the neck and hem help regulate humidity.
Available only in black.

Unmatched Versatility for Everything from High-Altitude Winter Expeditions to Everyday Wear

"While the original Mountain Peak series was a professional-spec line for serious mountaineers, this new model has been optimized for warmth, lightness, and mobility. This gives it the versatility to handle everything from base camp and 6,000-meter ascents to activities in high winds and frigid temperatures—and even your daily life."
This down jacket, bearing the name "Mountain Peak," is engineered for the harshest conditions, giving its wearer an undeniable sense of security. Herein lies the ultimate value of owning a Mountain Peak Down Jacket.
