Giving Shape to a Personal Aesthetic
Vingi grew up in Hong Kong, a city where chaos and color, speed and serenity, constantly collide. Her formative experiences with fashion stem from the Hong Kong cinema of the '80s and '90s and her mother's treasured vintage jewelry. "I would play with her pearls and bags, searching for my own unique style," she recalls. Her journey began from a deeply personal and sensory place.Fueled by a passion for fashion, she went on to study at the prestigious Central Saint Martins in the UK. Later, while honing her skills at top European maisons, she developed a philosophy of balancing creativity with practicality.
"I pulled countless all-nighters and was pushed to my limits, but that experience forged my creativity and discipline," she says. After graduating, she worked for renowned fashion houses, learning firsthand about the "responsibility of creating commercially viable products" and the "complexities of cross-departmental collaboration."
Her goal of "launching her own brand" finally materialized after she had built a career in the industry for eight years. With this wealth of experience, she says she "felt confident she could finally pour her own values and philosophy into her products."
Although she initially considered a ready-to-wear line, her desire to "create timeless pieces that are loved for years to come" ultimately guided her toward the brand's current focus on handbags.

It's not about blindly following trends, nor is it about rejecting them outright. Noirgaze seeks the intersection where personal values meet timeless, architectural beauty.
Like Sculpture, Like Architecture: The Ideology in the Form
Mid-century architecture and modernist sculpture serve as a constant underlying theme in Noirgaze's designs. Vingi shares that she draws inspiration from leading 20th-century artists like Constantin Brâncuși, Isamu Noguchi, and Henry Moore.
"Their works possess an overwhelming power within their tranquility. That is the very aesthetic I want to express with Noirgaze."
The interplay of lines and curves, the use of negative space, and textures that invite you to touch—she carefully gathers each of these elements to shape her bags into pieces of 'wearable art.' Her process always begins hands-on.

"I start with drawings, then prototype, deconstruct, and build again. It's a constant cycle."
For her, design is a fluid, sculptural act—a dialogue with the materials themselves. She makes no compromises on practicality, stating, "Even with an experimental form, the ultimate prerequisite is that it must be usable."
"I don't want it to be just about beauty. A product becomes truly meaningful only when it functions in your daily life."
Even if the inspiration is an art piece, the final product must function as a tool rooted in everyday life. In its quest for the perfect balance between visual beauty and practicality, Noirgaze delivers a 'strength in serenity' to the wearer.
Products That Grow with Time
The Noirgaze ethos is also evident in its respect for craftsmanship and the lasting relationships it builds with its artisans. Manufacturing is entrusted to skilled, family-run ateliers in Italy and Spain. She personally visited more than 15 workshops to find partners who truly resonated with the brand's philosophy. "There are certain things that can only emerge from a relationship where you know each other personally," she explains. This manufacturing process, built on trust, enriches the story behind each product. Her relationship with them isn't just a manufacturing contract; it's a "collaboration to weave a story together."

"Noirgaze" doesn't create disposable fashion, but rather products that become lasting memories. Their forms are timeless, embodying an aesthetic meant to be passed down through generations. Looking to the future, Vingi aims to venture into creative pursuits beyond the fashion world.
"Beautiful things reveal their true worth the moment you sense their meaning."
Her words exude a quiet determination to influence time and memory through her craftsmanship.
