SAXX was founded in 2006 in Vancouver, Canada.

"The idea for the underwear came from a personal experience of our founder, Trent Kitsch. He was on a fishing trip with his dad, standing in the cold water for hours in a damp, chilly wetsuit.

He got completely fed up with the dampness, chafing, and general discomfort downstairs. That's what sparked the idea to create a better kind of underwear."

Kitsch's goal was to create underwear that could solve all these problems at once—dampness, chafing, and lack of support. To do that, he had to rethink everything, not just the materials and manufacturing, but the fundamental design of underwear itself.

A Game-Changing Design Inspired by a Catcher's Mitt

After a ton of trial and error, Kitsch dreamed up a groundbreaking 3D structure: the BallParkPouch®.

"It’s a design that creates a hammock-shaped 3D space at the front to comfortably cradle a man’s most sensitive areas."

The name comes from, you guessed it, a ballpark. As a former college baseball player, Kitsch got the lightbulb moment for the design from looking at a catcher's mitt.

"To perfect the comfort, SAXX went through endless rounds of testing. We adjusted the balance of the front pouch shape, selected the best materials, optimized the panel angles and stitch lines, and ran durability tests for washing and wear. The whole development process took about two years, and we created 14 different prototypes."

Then there’s the Three-D Fit®, a design that utilizes 3D shaping.

"Instead of using a conventional flat pattern, we use an ergonomic nine-panel construction.

Basically, we don't try to make a flat piece of fabric fit a 3D body. We build our underwear three-dimensionally from the start, so it naturally conforms to your body’s curves, movements, and muscles."

The three technologies are patented in both the U.S. and Canada.

'In the early days, we built brand awareness by sponsoring prominent athletes in American football, baseball, basketball, and ice hockey. Later, we were picked up by high-end department stores like Nordstrom.

It was even featured on the popular American program 'National Geographic,' winning an award as the go-to underwear for journalists on assignment.'

In 2017, the brand began its expansion into Europe, launching in the UK, Germany, and France, landing in Japan that same year.
