This insight led to the birth of MIGARU,” says Shunji Moriya, from the Product Planning and Development Group at TENTIAL.
“MIGARU” is classified as a general medical device recovery wear that meets the standards for “home-use far infrared blood circulation enhancing clothing” like “BAKUNE.” It uses SELFLAME®, a special functional fiber uniquely blended with ultra-fine ceramic powder, which radiates far infrared rays (body heat) emitted from the body, promoting blood circulation, aiding in fatigue recovery, and alleviating muscle tension and tightness.
Additionally, by blending SELFLAME® into the fibers, it achieves high washing durability, allowing for long-lasting effectiveness.

"MIGARU" is Functional Wear that Qualifies as a Medical Device
One of the major appeals of "MIGARU" is that it is certified as a general medical device. Let's review the establishment of recovery wear rules set in 2022.Prior to this, there was no category for general medical devices that included household products with far-infrared blood circulation enhancement properties. To avoid consumer confusion, in October 2022, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare announced the establishment of the new category of "General Medical Device/Household Far-Infrared Blood Circulation Enhancement Wear" that requires evaluation testing in medical institutions.
Since the registration for the newly established medical devices requires clinical trials and more rigorous evaluation, the entry barriers have significantly increased, making it more challenging to sell recovery wear that claimed to be a general medical device. However, "MIGARU," like "BAKUNE," meets these standards and has completed its manufacturing and sales notification. This shows that there is evidence of blood circulation enhancement effects.
This wear is highly recommended for those who suffer from shoulder stiffness or lower back pain due to long hours of desk work, as well as for people frequently traveling long distances by airplane or Shinkansen.
