AIRism, a material co-developed by UNIQLO and Toray, is made from ultra-fine polyester fibers—about 1/12th the thickness of human hair.

The latest version features seven functions: sweat absorption and quick-drying, deodorization, antibacterial and odor control, moisture-wicking and releasing, a smooth feel on the skin, instant cooling sensation, and stretchiness.

This T-shirt also features a double-face construction with cotton on the outside and polyester on the inside. The inner layer that touches your skin uses AIRism for comfort, while the outer cotton layer makes it easy to wear as streetwear.

The use of stretch yarn in the material’s core adds a structured feel, so even in an oversized fit, the silhouette holds its shape.

The dimensions are as follows for size L: length 72cm, shoulder width 54cm, body width 58.5cm, sleeve length (from center back) 55cm. As the name suggests, the silhouette is intentionally oversized.

However, by matching the relaxed width with dropped shoulders and designing the sleeves to come down to the elbows, the overall balance is maintained. As a result, even though the fit is oversized, the look stays sharp and clean.

When worn, the sleeves drop straight down, which stands out. This comes from the design where the sleeve cap is set slightly lower in line with the drop shoulder style.

The neckline uses a sewn-on collar, giving it a distinct finish compared to standard crew neck T-shirts. With a slightly higher neck in the front, the T-shirt gives off a sophisticated vibe.

Let’s have a quick refresher on DRY-EX.

This material is a high-performance summer fabric created by UNIQLO together with their brand ambassadors, top athletes.

The team discovered that what makes athletes uncomfortable during intense activity is sweat sticking to the skin, so they developed a fabric that maximizes "sweat absorption and diffusion speed".

The finished DRY-EX is made from highly absorbent and diffusive polyester yarn, which draws sweat away instantly and spreads it across the entire fabric for rapid drying.

It stays silky smooth even when you sweat, and also provides instant cooling and antibacterial/odor-resistant functions—just what you want for summer.

Previously, DRY-EX had a noticeably shiny finish, which limited where you could wear it.

To fix this, UNIQLO developed new yarn. The resulting DRY-EX has a more matte appearance and a cotton-like feel, making it much more suitable for daily wear.

While DRY-EX is a fabric designed for sports, this model is built around the concept of an "easy-to-wear T-shirt for daily use."

The dimensions are length 70cm, shoulder width 51cm, body width 56.5cm, and sleeve length 52cm (for size L). Although it’s a bit more compact than the AIRism Cotton Oversized T-shirt, the shoulder width and sleeve length are designed to be slightly more generous.

Together with the tubular knit design with no side seams, it creates a relaxed and comfortable fit.

Mesh material under the sleeves improves breathability, but small, subtle mesh panels are used to avoid making it look overly sporty.

The hem and sleeve openings are finished with knitting instead of visible stitching.

This not only makes them feel softer against the skin, but also, by hiding the stitching, visually enhances the T-shirt’s refined and elegant appearance.
