Many people worry about dark spots and wrinkles. While it’s widely understood that one of the causes is ultraviolet (UV) rays, how many people are thorough with their after-sun skincare (skincare after sun exposure) or consistently reapply sunscreen?
According to a survey on UV protection by
Manavis Cosmetics, about half of dermatologists and beauty nurses answered that there is a "lack of after-sun care and reapplication of sunscreen."
This time, we interviewed Emiko Ohata and Ymiko Yutani from Manavis Cosmetics, and asked them about essential skincare habits for those troubled by spots and wrinkles.
90% of Dermatologists & Beauty Nurses Report "UV Damage is Serious"
Manavis Cosmetics conducted a survey of 1,073 dermatologists and beauty nurses on "aging care x UV rays." Regarding UV damage, approximately 90% responded that it is either "very serious (45.6%)" or "somewhat serious (45.0%)."
When asked, "What kind of skin damage is caused by UV rays?" the top three answers were spots, freckles, and wrinkles. Regarding these results, Yutani from Manavis Cosmetics commented:
