Wrancher," a model Wrangler released in the 1960s.
The Wrancher, designed as dress-up jeans for cowboys, is a long-selling staple from Wrangler. Here, we'll dive into how the Wrancher has been loved over the years, both back when it first launched and today.
The Wrangler Brand—Created for Cowboys
Let's start by revisiting the roots of Wrangler. In fact, this brand boasts a history even predating its official founding. The story begins in 1904, when the company originally started as "Hudson Overall Company."Many may recognize the "Blue Bell" mark, which is still incorporated in the current Wrangler logo. In 1919, the company name changed to Blue Bell.
Later on, the company merged with the workwear brand "Big Ben," also operating in America at the time, and acquired "Casey Jones," another apparel company. It was Casey Jones who owned the Wrangler brand. That's when Wrangler dove into the western wear market, making its mark on the American cowboy scene—that's the true beginning of what we now know as Wrangler.
