Akiko Saito
Co-founder/Director, encyclo Inc. Born in Tokyo. After gaining experience in various companies in the automotive, construction, IT, and media industries, she joined POLA Inc. in 2003. She has built her career in HR, IR, and CSR, and has also been a marketing director at an affiliated company. In 2018, at POLA Inc., she launched the 'Cancer Coexistence Program', which includes measures to support work-life balance during cancer treatment, and identified issues in improving the quality of life after cancer treatment.

First, can you tell us how encyclo came to be?
Mizuta and I, the founding members, developed an interest in 'living as oneself even after cancer treatment' from different backgrounds and applied for the firm's venture program. The business was approved after going through selection.
