He majored in Material Engineering during his university and graduate studies. Naoki excels at planning neutrally with appropriate means such as words, videos, design, and technology. His notable works include the entrance part of the TOKYO2020 Paralympic Opening Ceremony, "Matsukoroid," NHK's AI baseball commentary system "ZUNO," and E-tele's "Design A." His accolades include the Special Jury Prize at the Japan Media Arts Festival, the Good Design Award, and the Cannes Lions. Naoki also serves as a special lecturer in the Department of Information Design at Kyoto University of the Arts.

Naoki Tokui founded Qosmo in 2009. With the motto "Computational Creativity and Beyond," he explores the possibilities of expanding creativity through AI and human coexistence. He is known for installations utilizing AI. Since April 2019, he has also led the Computational Creativity Lab at Keio University's SFC, deepening his practice through research and education. His written work includes "創るためのAI 機械と創造性のはてしない物語" (BNN). Naoki holds a Ph.D. in Engineering, having completed the doctoral program in electronic engineering at the University of Tokyo.
