Shoes with a Gentle & Comfortable Ride! ASICS's 'GEL-NIMBUS26' Offers an Even Softer Experience

The ASICS 'Gel Nimbus' series, named after the Latin word for 'cloud', NIMBUS, offers a soft ride that feels like running on clouds, earning the support of many runners since its debut. This series is especially popular in Europe and America, where there is a large market for cushioned shoes.
 
The previous model, launched during the 25th anniversary year of the series, underwent a full model change from the one before it, achieving the highest cushioning in the series' history. Its high functionality and simple design earned the support of many, making it a hit model domestically too. So, how has the latest model of the series, the 'GEL-NIMBUS 26', been updated? We asked Tomoko Fujihata, who is in charge of product planning.

The Midsole Basic Design Follows the Previous Model

The basic design of the midsole for the 'Gel-Nimbus 26' follows that of its predecessor, the 'Gel-Nimbus 25'. The midsole is made from a material called FF BLAST PLUS ECO, which is applied throughout the sole. FF BLAST PLUS ECO retains the light, bouncing properties of FF BLAST PLUS while replacing about 24% of its components with plant-derived materials, making it an environmentally friendly foam material. The heel part is embedded with PureGEL.
