What Does a Comfortable Fit Entail?
Can you share the background of how you started researching comfort?
Fujii In the 1990s, we had the opportunity to discuss the manufacturing policy for glasses, and we decided to collect surveys from users. We received many comments about the uncomfortable fit, such as "It hurts my head," and "My nose and ears hurt." We believed that improving these aspects could lead to more satisfying glasses for our customers, and thus we began researching comfort.
We repeatedly reviewed materials and structures and created various shapes, but ultimately, because actual sensation when wearing the glasses is crucial, we needed to base our decisions on solid data.
