The brand 'MILLET', founded in France in 1921, is globally recognized as a prestigious outdoor brand and has a vast fan base in Japan. Its logo, designed from the initial letter 'M', usually comes in a single color. However, some specialized outdoor stores carry a series named 'Trilogy', featuring a tricolor logo similar to the French national flag. This series is currently drawing attention.

But why is this series, embodying the essence of the brand's technology, gaining popularity in the city? Might a closer look at the features of the backpack 'Trilogy Sky 25+', suitable for urban use, reveal the answer? Expecting insights, we visited Millet Mountain Group Japan Corporation and spoke to Kanade Furuya from the Marketing Department.

In 1987, French alpinist Christophe Profit, who repeatedly climbed the three most difficult north faces of the European Alps (Alpine Trilogy) in just 42 hours, sent shockwaves around the world. Using free solo climbing without ropes or protective gear, in winter, he conquered Grandes Jorasses, Matterhorn, and Eiger, all notorious for their difficulty.

The remarkable achievement Profit accomplished, fully equipped with Millet products, marked the dawn of a new climbing style that is now a standard—quick action in light gear. In honor of this achievement, Millet named its top series 'Trilogy' and has been using a special tricolor logo, also known as the 'Trilogy Logo', to this day.

While mountain lovers have long applauded the performance of the Trilogy series, its lightweight, durability, and usability are increasingly becoming popular among outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy various activities throughout the seasons, without the need for intense alpine conditions. Many people also utilize it as a daily commuting bag.

While items suitable for flatland use often prove unsuitable for high mountain usage, products designed for high-altitude environments can be practical on flatlands as well. For instance, some commute runners utilize the 'Trilogy Sky 25+' for its lightness, fitting experience, and generous capacity. Naturally, it can also be applied for walking.
