Members with knowledge of how to make people run faster gathered together for Mizuno's SMOOTH SPEED PROJECT. The patented SMOOTH SPEED ASSIST was born in the pursuit of smoothness in speed running.

Announcing the new model, "MIZUNO NEO VISTA" which features this unique structure and the new material MIZUNO ENERZY NXT, known for its flexibility and resilience. What makes the "Mizuno Neo Vista" so amazing, capable of handling everything from daily jogs to speed training?

A Super Daily Trainer Focused on Jogging

The SMOOTH SPEED PROJECT, launched in 2021, aims to pursue smoothness in speed running. "We are developing products from scratch, thinking about what truly smooth running is, free from preconceptions. We are flexible in adopting new ideas and good ones," says Shunsuke Aoi, head of the Performance Running Planning Department at Mizuno Corporation.

The first model from the SMOOTH SPEED PROJECT was the "WAVE DUEL PRO," released in 2022. Remember the bold and innovative design that resembled high heels but had no heel part, leaving the heel floating in the air?

In January 2023, "WAVE REBELLION PRO" was released, followed by "WAVE REBELLION PRO 2" this January. While these were racing models for elite runners, the new "Mizuno Neo Vista" focuses on jogging.
 
"Steady training, meaning daily jogs, is essential for achieving good results in races and is critical for generating speed. The Mizuno Neo Vista aims to improve the quality of these jogs, which are the foundation of everything. In short, it's a super daily trainer."

New Flexible & Resilient Material for the Midsole

The midsole of the "Mizuno Neo Vista" features MIZUNO ENERZY NXT, a new material known for its flexibility and resilience, in large volumes. The sole thickness is considerable, at 36.5mm in the forefoot and 44.5mm in the heel. As a result, cushioning and energy return are significantly improved compared to previous models.
 
"Compared to the high-cushion WAVE NEO ULTRA, the heel cushioning is 54% better, and the forefoot cushioning is 83% better. In terms of energy return, the heel is 35% higher and the forefoot is 60% higher compared to the Wave Neo Ultra. You should feel less strain on your legs and more propulsion."

"Mizuno Neo Vista" Customized SMOOTH SPEED ASSIST Function

Furthermore, the patented SMOOTH SPEED ASSIST is customized and adopted for "Mizuno Neo Vista." SMOOTH SPEED ASSIST refers to Mizuno's unique sole structure. The forefoot curves to naturally align during forefoot contact, securing ample foot width. The midfoot is expanded to offer stability and significant energy return. Additionally, the heel is boldly cut to support natural forefoot landing.

In general running shoes, when landing on the forefoot, the heel drops due to gravity, which is supported by the muscles around the calves, but SMOOTH SPEED ASSIST helps reduce the burden on these muscles.
