What kind of business were you doing at the time of the founding in 1938?
The first president, Youjin Tomibe, started the company under the name Nihon Silk Wool Industries Co., LtdAt that time in Japan, silk was available, but wool was hard to come by. He used a technique called "sericin fixation," which turned silk into a wool-like fabric, hence the word "silk wool" in the company name.
