Transforms Your Look the Moment You Apply It! How Porté Achieved Results Using Nano-Platinum and Nano-Gold in a Booster Serum with Just 6 Ingredients

2026.09.04
With countless lifting skincare items on the market, many people struggle to know which one to choose. Amid this crowd, porté introduced its newly developed "Nano PT Booster Serum."
In a skincare market dominated by layering multiple active ingredients, this product was created with a minimalist, "subtractive" philosophy. Featuring a simple formula of just six ingredients including water, it focuses on nano-platinum and nano-gold to deliver a refreshed, toned appearance.
How did they arrive at a formula with so few ingredients? We spoke with Hiroko Nakanishi, CEO of STARTKEY Co., Ltd., about the science and story behind its development.

A Minimalist "Subtractive" Formula Built on Just 6 Ingredients

While typical serums contain dozens of ingredients, porté's "Nano PT Booster Serum" uses just six. What led to this formula?
I originally struggled with severe sensitive skin, so my starting point was creating something I could safely use and truly stand behind. Standard serums often contain a massive list of ingredients. When catering to different skin types, adding another ingredient isn't just adding a single risk—the risk multiplies exponentially depending on how ingredients interact. That's why I believed fewer ingredients were better. To prevent skin irritation, we thoroughly eliminated unnecessary additives and pared the formula down to a minimal six ingredients.

Skincare for sensitive skin often focuses on defense, such as strengthening the skin barrier or boosting moisture. Why did you choose a proactive approach like firming care?
People with sensitive skin still share the exact same skin concerns as everyone else. That is why I wanted to create a product that offers a proactive approach while remaining safe for sensitive skin.
Why did you choose a booster serum as the product format?
First, serums allow users to notice visible changes more easily. Furthermore, unless you build a solid skin foundation, anything you layer on top will quickly lose effectiveness. That led us to a booster serum designed as the first step of a routine. Also, speaking from my own experience, people with sensitive skin often stick to products that work for them for years. A booster serum can easily be added as the first step to their existing skincare routine.

The Firming Mechanism of "Microcurrents" Powered by Nano-Platinum and Nano-Gold
Nano-gold and nano-platinum are particularly eye-catching in the formula. How do they work on the skin?
Gold and platinum produce microcurrents with wavelengths close to the human body's bioelectric currents. Since each metal generates a distinct microcurrent, combining them triggers a reaction that produces a pore-tightening astringent effect. While firming skincare usually relies on ingredient efficacy, this product utilizes the microcurrents emitted by gold and platinum to visibly tighten pores. You can think of it like an EMS device that stimulates muscles with electrical impulses.
Because it tightens pores through microcurrents rather than heavy chemical ingredients, it offers the advantage of being easily effective for a wider range of people.
Beyond targeting pores, nano-gold and nano-platinum prevent texture irregularities, smoothing the skin surface

The Role of Low-Molecular Collagen Comprising Over 90% of the Formula

In addition to nano-gold and nano-platinum, low-molecular collagen makes up over 90% of the formula. What role does it play?
The main goal is to improve the absorption of the lotion you apply next. For those with sensitive or dry skin, hydration is everything. While this serum alone isn't meant to cover all your moisture needs, it acts as a foundation that boosts and accelerates the performance of your usual lotion and moisturizer.
Low-molecular weight processing enhances skin absorption
What was the intention behind breaking down the collagen into low-molecular-weight particles?
Because drastically reducing the molecular weight of collagen changes how effectively it penetrates the stratum corneum. Conventional collagen has large molecules that tend to sit on the surface of the skin, but this serum is formulated with an ultra-small molecular weight of 500 to 1,000. As these tiny molecules absorb into the skin, they dramatically improve the absorption of any lotion applied afterward. In the beauty industry, there is a well-known concept called the "500 Dalton Rule." This principle suggests that ingredients under 500 Daltons penetrate the stratum corneum more easily, and this serum successfully meets that criteria.

Real-World Expansion as an Experiential Product

What has the customer response been like?
When we conducted a pre-release at beauty salons, we achieved a 100% repeat rate. Salons apply this serum before carbonated or lava clay packs, and it has received great reviews for preventing skin dryness while boosting the absorption of the pack's ingredients. We feel it is a product that offers an exceptionally high level of satisfaction from the very first use.
What are your future plans for the brand?
We see this serum as an "experiential" product—one where customers truly appreciate its value once they try it on their skin. That is why we focus heavily on real-world touchpoints, such as pop-up events. Looking ahead, we want to expand beyond skincare into new product categories like hair care and body care.
Even though it is a booster serum, trying it over makeup gave the skin a natural glow and instantly brightened the overall complexion. Being able to notice such an immediate difference may be one of the reasons behind the high repeat rate.
Using weak electric currents generated by nano-platinum and nano-gold to trigger chemical reactions offers a fresh approach—presenting exciting new possibilities in skincare for those who struggle with complex ingredient formulations.
