Project Foil

Project Foil represents the first venture into textile development by the ZOZO Group. Textiles play an indispensable role in our lives, extending from fashion to our living environments, and various R&D initiatives continue to explore this field. Nowadays, in particular, enhancements in material properties such as warmth retention and anti-bacterial functionality are being coupled with the emergence of smart textiles that endow fabric with new capabilities. These textiles offer potential as novel user interfaces, healthcare tools, and fashion items. The technology inherent to these flexible, cloth-based materials merges seamlessly into daily life. This is why aesthetics is such a crucial element. Project Foil doesn't only target the functional aspects of textiles, but also focuses on design-related elements, such as the materials used, weaving techniques, and artistic expression. Through a multi-faceted approach that intertwines functionality and design, this R&D project aims to promote the wider adoption of smart textiles.
