Practicing a product development ethos they call 'One Stitch, One Soul', the brand Yoshida Bag's 'PORTER' has crafted items with striking dimensional forms and stretch cords as iconic features. These are trademarks of the 'PORTER THINGS' series. But how did 'PORTER THINGS' come into being, and what characteristics do these bags possess? Ryo Endo, the Chief Manager of Development at Yoshida & Co., Ltd., discusses these topics along with an introduction of currently available models.

'PORTER' Inherits the Spirit of its Founder's Craftsmanship

Yoshida Bag was founded in 1935 by Yoshizo Yoshida. From the age of 12, Yoshizo dedicated his life to the craft of bag making, honing his skills and ingenuity until his final years.

Since its foundation, Yoshida Bag has been committed to making bags with the 'Made in Japan' quality. The 'One Stitch, One Soul' ethos—akin to meticulously stitching each and every stitch, taking no shortcuts in every process from material selection to design to sewing—has been passed down to this day.

In 1962, the brand 'PORTER' was established, its name stemming from the occupation of porters, who handle the luggage of guests at hotels and who know the value of good baggage.
