One of the most intriguing aspects of vintage items is that there's a story lurking behind each one. The context of the era, the woof and weave of contemporary trends, the loss of certain materials or manufacturing techniques. There's a layers-rich narrative that sometimes outdoes even that of luxury brands, providing the pleasure of decoding historical value.
In this article, we are featuring a rather niche vintage item, namely the 'zipper' or 'fastener'.
Given that it is just one component of many clothing items, zip-fasteners rarely receive attention. Their charm is seldom appreciated. However, there are collectors so mesmerized by these components that they dedicate a significant portion of their life pursuing them. And there is indeed a depth to them known only to these collectors.
