The previous model, 'Wave Rider 26', was the most flexible and resilient in the Wave Rider series. What has the new model 'Wave Rider 27' evolved into?
The 'Wave Rider' series are the standard daily trainers that Mizuno is proud of. It has been the model of choice for many runners looking to complete a full marathon, as a jogging shoe for everyday runners, or as a racing shoe for over 25 years.
These shoes embody the running comfort 'smoothness' that Mizuno values. Featuring a wave plate, these shoes balance cushioning, resilience, and stability at a high level.
The Sole Unit Continues, but the Upper Gets a Big Update
While the 'Wave Rider 27' uses the same sole unit as the 'Wave Rider 26', the materials and structure of the upper have been significantly updated.
"While it continues to use a seamless, one-piece mesh like the previous model, the material has changed. The previous model used a stiff, crisp mesh material. In the Wave Rider 27, the material is much softer and has a moist feeling. I think you'll get a comfortable fit that gently wraps your foot," says Hiroaki Kawanishi of Mizuno Global Footwear Product Division.
