I don't wear suits or so-called office casual clothing very often. Whether I'm giving lectures at the university or presenting at conferences, I generally wear what I like, in the way I like.
I prefer an elegant yet slightly edgy style, a hybrid look. Currently, I'm looking forward to new releases each season from sacai, and I enjoy pairing sacai's MA-1 with a slightly sweet dress. The tweed jacket I'm draped over my shoulder in my profile picture is from sacai's 2022 Spring/Summer collection, and it's one of my favorite pieces. I also love shoes, so I often pair them with Sergio Rossi's ankle boots or Margiela's Tabi boots. Even when my clothing is relatively subdued, I tend to wear accessories that are a bit bold and edgy. While I don’t dress outrageously, I often feel out of place in the faculty lounge at the university, which tends to have more formal attire. Wearing something that resembles a suit would help me blend into that environment and appear more like a "teacher" or a "proper researcher."
