The special exhibition celebrating UNIQLO's 40th anniversary, titled "The Art and Science of LifeWear: What Makes Life Better?" was held in Paris at the Pavillon Vendôme, located in the prestigious Place Vendôme, known for its luxury fashion houses. This event was a limited-time occasion from October 1 for five days.
The exhibition reflected the essence of the company today. At the opening reception held the day before its public launch, UNIQLO's Chairman Tadashi Yanai attended the event alongside UNIQLO's global brand ambassador, former professional tennis player Roger Federer, and the newly appointed creative director, Clare Waight Keller. Key figures from the collaboration with UNIQLO, such as Christophe Lemaire and Sarah-Linh Tran, also attended the event, standing before the cameras. As one scanned the venue, the famous French actress Catherine Deneuve could be seen gracefully wandering around, adding to the event's glamour.
Even after public opening, the event was bustling with people of all ages. This illustrates UNIQLO's brand recognition in France and its expansion across various generations. On some days, the line for entry extended from the venue, nestled in the far corner of the square, all the way to the square itself. This scene symbolized the company’s growth from the opening of its first store in 1984 in Hiroshima City (which was named Unique Clothing Warehouse at that time) to the present.
