What will I wear today? I’m meeting someone special, so I’ll dress up as much as I can. I'm heading to a client meeting, so I need to ensure my attire is appropriate. Just like this, people choose their clothes every day. But what if not only choosing clothes but even wearing them wasn’t a given?
Crystalroad Inc.'s CEO Jiei Kato explains that due to his “sensory sensitivity*” state, where various senses are so heightened that daily life becomes difficult, the very act of “wearing clothing was painful” before even choosing what to wear. From this experience, he founded KANKAKU FACTORY and works daily to deliver clothes that are comfortable to wear.
This time, beyond discussing his struggles and the initiatives he's taking to solve them, we delved into Kato’s perspective of viewing sensory sensitivity as a form of talent.

* "Sensory sensitivity refers to a state where various senses such as sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch are overly sensitive, causing difficulties in daily life. This is not a disease but a symptom, so it is not something diagnosed. It is a common symptom in developmental disorders but can also be seen in various conditions like depression, autonomic dysfunction, dementia, stroke, epilepsy, and higher brain function impairments. Moreover, there's an overlap with people identified as HSP (Highly Sensitive Person), who also often exhibit sensory sensitivities." (from the KANKAKU FACTORY website)

First, could you tell us about the circumstances of your entrepreneurship and sensory sensitivity?
In December 2018, when I was 12 years old, I founded a company in the form of parent-child entrepreneurship. Initially, I admired the role of CEO and engaged in projects aimed at creating a society where anyone could easily start a business.
