Founder of "Organic Zoo"

Raised as the second of three sisters in Poland during a time of economic hardship, surrounded by nature, she enjoyed a rich childhood. Drawing inspiration from the spirit she learned from her mother and childhood memories, she founded the beautiful, practical, and minimalist high-quality children’s clothing brand "Organic Zoo" in 2014, allowing children the freedom to play.

A Slow & Small Start

Could you share your background leading up to the establishment of "Organic Zoo"?
I majored in economics at a university in northern Poland before moving to the UK. I hoped to find purpose in life through experiencing a different culture.
I had never formally studied design or fashion, but after settling in the UK, I was fortunate to gain opportunities to work at several creative companies.
One of these was a fashion company dealing with collections from top global designers such as "Gucci," "Prada," and "Ralph Lauren." This marked my first experience involving fashion and business, and it became an incredible journey of self-discovery. Through this experience, I realized I enjoyed design and sales.
A few years later, I took on a new job involved in the sourcing and development of new products. Here, I witnessed the reality that many of the products we purchased were produced by people with limited choices regarding their professions. The idea for "Organic Zoo" was born at this time. I wanted to challenge myself to see if we could create wonderful products in a better way.
Today, our entire collection is proudly produced in Europe by partners who meet ethical standards.
What is the most significant childhood memory that shapes the concept behind "Organic Zoo"?
In my childhood, I lived a simpler, happier life with limited resources, fostering a love for creativity and connection to nature. I remember standing in line for hours with my mother, holding coupons to buy groceries and necessities in our financially strained household.
With very few toys to play with, I engaged in imaginative play, creating games, stories, and worlds in my mind. Summers were spent at a lakeside lodge, where the forest became the playground for my sisters and me, where we learned to swim and fish with makeshift rods made from sticks. My mother taught me to find beauty in simplicity, enabling me to feel a richness in my heart despite having little materially.
These values and childhood memories with my family inspire every collection of "Organic Zoo."
