Meeting through deviations from everyday life and constantly changing one's contours lightly. Listening to Umpei Ohura, the designer of the Paris-based unisex brand "CLOUD LOBBY," which makes "traveling clothes" its concept, made us think about the significance of travel.
"The 'traveling clothes' that boast high functionality are a bit different. As the clothes and I travel, we change shape like clouds and keep flowing. I want to deliver clothes that release the body and evoke the heart," says Ohura.
He, spending his 17th year living in Paris, projects his ongoing experience of settling in a foreign land, the people he meets all over the world, and the everyday scenery in Paris, onto his life's journey in "CLOUD LOBBY." While maintaining a guiding axis, such as dropping out of college where he studied abroad, experience on the business side, rather than design, and holding a guerrilla show at the Supreme Court in Paris, he ended up being carried by the wind like a cloud and landed where he is now.
