Known for his light-hearted talk and vibrant character, Juichi Wakisaka is a regular guest on numerous TV programs. Starting his racing career with racing carts at the age of 19, his path has led him to his current position as both an active racer and a racing team manager and producer. So how exactly did Wakisaka ascend to the ranks of racing drivers? He also discusses the technology involved in protective racing gear, such as racing suits and driving shoes.

Being a 'Sore Loser' Propels him to Higher Categories

Juichi Wakisaka started racing carts at age 19 and took his first step towards becoming a professional driver. So what triggered his interest in becoming a racing driver?
 
"I used to enjoy riding my bike on the open road, but a friend of my dad told me it was dangerous and pushed me to try cart racing instead, saying there were faster guys on the racing track. From then on, I began racing carts," shares Wakisaka.
 
From this point forward, he gradually began to establish his presence in the racing industry.
 
"I could post pretty good times right from the beginning, but I just couldn't beat the players who had been racing since they were little. I was so frustrated that I would spend all my time at the cart track with a burning desire to win. If you ask why I became a racing driver, it's because of this feeling of not wanting to lose, and wanting to win."
