France, the gourmet capital, has a concept known as 'Art de la Table' (Art of Dining).
It's not just about the meal itself, but about going all out on the elements that set the scene, achieving a harmonious and artistic table setting. Essentially, it’s a technique that elevates everyday meals into opportunities to appreciate art.
In France, the value of 'Art de la Table' has been reconsidered, especially during the pandemic, leading to a trend among young people to share beautiful table settings and innovative recipes on social media.
One individual driving this trend is Parisian model Alice Moireau. Her simple yet sophisticated and homely table setting photos posted on Instagram during the pandemic caught attention, featuring in numerous media outlets.
Along with items that adorn the dining table like tablecloths, coasters, and ceramic ware, TABLE also offers a variety of kitchen goods such as apron dresses and kitchen towels.
The aprons, made from antique fabrics, are patchworked with kitchen towels of different motifs and colors, making each piece unique. The 'Apron Sorbet,' featuring recycled fabrics, creates volume with gathers, showcasing dress-like high design appeal.
The first to notice products from 'TABLE' was Japan's select shop, 'TOMORROWLAND.' "I love Japanese culture and food, and respect it immensely. I was thrilled to be recognized by Japan! It’s an honor that the first store to carry 'TABLE' products is in Japan," Alice says with a smile.
In this interview, Alice shares her thoughts on 'TABLE' and the allure of the 'Art de la Table.'

A Creative Lab Evolving with Artists & Artisans

First, could you tell us about the overview of the tableware brand 'TABLE'?
'TABLE' aims to offer products that create a colorful and enjoyable dining experience and is a global project expressing the desire to enjoy food culture.
We see it as a playground resembling a creative lab evolving with artists and artisans.
Amid numerous tableware brands, what makes 'TABLE' unique?
We have a deep love for color and craftsmanship. Together with my co-founder Caroline, we design all collections, and we ensure products are manufactured by responsible, high-quality suppliers.
We collaborate with artisans or suppliers who resonate with 'TABLE's philosophy and possess the know-how, incorporating this into our collections. This defines our uniqueness and the value of our brand.
Could you tell us about the background leading to the launch of 'TABLE'?
After the lockdown during the pandemic in 2020, I published a cookbook compiling French recipes I had been serving to friends and family. Years before, I had modeled for Caroline’s fashion brand, catching her eye with my cookbook. She reached out to propose collaborative apron production and developing textile works related to the book.
I thought it was a fantastic idea and we immediately began making it together.
Later, we decided not to limit ourselves to a single product but to establish a more ambitious brand. This led to the launch of 'TABLE,' developing unique tablecloths, napkins, aprons, and placemats.
