Using FF BLAST MAX Throughout the Midsole
The most significant upgrade point of "NOVABLAST 5" is the change in midsole material. In the previous model, "
NOVABLAST 4," the lightweight and highly responsive FF BLAST PLUS ECO was used throughout the midsole, but in this model, the more responsive FF BLAST MAX has been adopted.
FF BLAST MAX was first introduced in last October's "
GLIDERIDE MAX." The midsole of "GLIDERIDE MAX" employs a two-layer structure with FF BLAST MAX on top and FF BLAST PLUS on the bottom. This marks the first time that FF BLAST MAX has been used throughout the midsole in "NOVABLAST 5."
"FF BLAST MAX has about 8.5% higher rebound compared to the cushion foam used in the previous model. This increase enhances the feeling of bounce and propulsion. While the thickness of the heel (41.5mm) and drop (8mm) remain unchanged from the previous model, the area around the big toe has been thickened for better rebound sensation during push-off," Horie explained.
